Frequently asked questions
What kind of experience and expertise can I expect at Domain Health?
Our team is a diverse mix of healthcare professionals who bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. We’re passionate about what we do and are committed to providing you with the highest standard of care. Whether it’s physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or any of our other services, you can trust that you’re receiving care from some of the most experienced in the field.
Who is eligible for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)?
A: To be eligible for the NDIS, you must be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa, be under the age of 65, and have a permanent disability or a condition that affects your ability to carry out everyday tasks. The disability or medical condition must be likely to be permanent and require support from the NDIS over time.
To determine your eligibility, you need to undergo an assessment by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) who will evaluate your support needs and determine if you meet the eligibility criteria.
If you are deemed eligible, an NDIS plan will be created that outlines the types of support and funding you can access to help you achieve your goals and improve your quality of life.
Do I need a referral from a GP before receiving services from Domain Health?
In most cases, you do not need a referral to receive support from our allied health clinicians. However, some insurance providers may require a GP’s referral. Please check with your insurance company for specific details.
What Should I Expect During My First Visit?
Our initial visits are designed as consultations where the clinician engages with parents to better understand their child’s unique needs and the goals, and learning about the support they are looking for.
How many sessions will I need?
Each plan is designed with your child’s specific needs, goals, and progress in mind. Our clinicians will work closely with you to create a clear support plan, which will be regularly reviewed to ensure it aligns with your child’s development.
